Message to the Overcomer: Crucified with Christ

Crucified with Christ

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God. Who loved me, and gave himself for me”, Galatians 2:20

“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts”, Galatians 5:24

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.  For he that is dead is freed from sin.  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:”
Romans 6:6-8.

Three deaths happened on the cross-the Son of God (Jesus Christ), the world (Galatians 6:14) and the sinner (Philippians 3:8-10).  I, Rosita, died August 7, 1981; but I am still here. So, who is doing the living now?  Christ, who lives in me and through me.

The crucified life is the best life.  I used to live life my own way.  Now that I am dead to self, I letJesus take control.  If you are still in control of your own life you are living below your means.  Living the crucified life is our service to God.  Jesus loves me and He gave himself for me; I now give myself for him.  It cost Jesus everything and it will cost me everything too.

It is not enough to know about Christ or to know that he died for you.  What you need is to experience Him in YOU, as he works out God’s will in your life.  In order to live a better life, I need to die and let Jesus take control of my life.  It is no longer I, but Christ who makes decisions for me; Christ takes me in the direction I should go; it is Christ living through me.  I yield my body to Christ that He may use it for his glory.

It is the Christian’s responsibility to experience the crucified life.  I am dead, but as long as I try to maintain control of this dead flesh, then I am not experiencing the best life possible.  What can a dead man do?  Can a dead man make decisions?  Can a dead man love?  Can a dead man give?  Can a dead man walk in the Spirit?  Can a dead man talk? But, a dead man can stop you from experiencing the real life that is in Christ Jesus.  Die, and with the help of the Holy Spirit you can have a powerful life-moving on with God in spite of trouble; a prayerful life-dependent on the Lord; a patterned life-like the life of Jesus; and a productive life- being fruitful.

Christ has done the work, now experience it. (Galatians 5:24)
