Meditation: Psalm 51:10-12
O God, sometimes I want belief without relationship. I want to believe in You without praying to You. I want to “be religious” without reading Your Word. I want to give my mind’s consent without my heart’s attention… without intimacy… without love.
I don’t spend much time with You because I’ve got a role to play. I don’t listen to Your Word because I’m delivering my lines. I don’t yield to You because I’m the star of my own show.
O God, I see what I’m doing. Forgive me when I’d rather star in today’s tragedy than be yielded to You in eternal victory.
